Rivera has more than 40 years of experience in the managed healthcare industry, covering administration, marketing, and provider relations. She has strong knowledge of IPA operations, including physician contracting, credentialing, recruitment, member services, and claims. Her background in practice management has helped independent providers maintain their practices effectively.

Rivera has built and managed several businesses, including her consulting firm, DK Medical Consulting. She has led collaborative efforts between management and physicians in planning, developing, and implementing health plan contracts, recruitment, provider training, and marketing.

A key passion for Rivera is supporting non-profits, particularly in cancer support due to her personal battle with breast cancer over 20 years ago. Her community involvement includes the American Cancer Society, National Breast Cancer Foundation, Alzheimer’s Association, Today’s Woman Foundation, Susan G. Komen Foundation, and the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation.

Christy joined DK Medical Consulting in the Summer of 2024, bringing with her a robust background in executive management, front office operations and training, marketing efforts, and medical compliance. Her extensive experience allows her to effectively manage key functions within the organization.

Throughout her various roles, Christy has been responsible for planning statewide meetings, coordinating board meetings, and preparing all necessary meeting materials, including catering and securing conference facilities. Notably, she successfully implemented a statewide Board of Directors/Physician meeting at an off-site hotel, ensuring all logistical details were handled seamlessly.

Christy collaborates closely with the CEO to address problem-solving, project planning, and management tasks, as well as the development and execution of organizational goals and objectives. She has a proven track record of evaluating data and qualitative measures to identify opportunities for enhancing the patient experience, utilizing this information to drive process improvements across various departments.

Her coordination with the Marketing Team and involvement in Trade Expos have been instrumental in promoting the company’s mission statement. By fostering effective relationships with internal departments and external partners, Christy enhances communication and collaboration throughout the organization.

As Co-Chair of the Statewide Purchasing Committee, Christy has secured better pricing on various supplies and equipment, resulting in over $50,000 in savings for the company. Her ability to respond to patient concerns and needs highlights her commitment to customer service, providing optimal solutions and resolutions in a timely manner.

In situations requiring escalated service responses, Christy serves as a liaison for patients, addressing issues related to scheduling, clinic policy, and billing while ensuring that clinic management is informed of any unusual problems needing follow-up.

Additionally, Christy actively participates in committees focused on developing process improvement recommendations, maintaining confidentiality and discretion with all sensitive information. She independently handles procedural matters and inquiries while preparing comprehensive reports, memos, and general correspondence for the CEO, ensuring clear and professional communication within the organization.
